Mass Immigration Is Eroding Our Gun Rights

For those who believe that gun rights and mass immigration are unrelated topics, we invite you to take a closer look at Colorado. Aside from Bill Clinton’s 1992 ‘populist’ victory there over George HW Bush, Colorado was a reliably “red” state, going back many years. (Clinton lost to Dole there in ’96.) This remarkable demographic shift and subsequent hatred of the Second Amendment is directly related to mass immigration, which in turn leads to things like the city of Boulder’s horrific freedom-killing new anti-gun laws.

Immigrants from countries that vote 8 to 10 in favor of gun-grabbing Democrats now make up somewhere around 15 percent of Colorado’s population. 12 percent of Colorado’s workforce is now foreign-born. About 4 percent of Colorado’s total population is made up of illegal aliens.

This “minor shift” was enough to turn a state that voted for Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush I, Dole and Bush II into a state where gun-loving, patriotic conservatives are now an endangered species. The city of Denver, population approximately 3 million, is now a ‘sanctuary city.’ As such, former crimes like public defecation and urination have been “legalized” so that police will never have a reason to stop a possible illegal alien on the street and ask them questions. Denver can now boast that on a really hot day, it smells just like San Francisco!

This should greatly concern us as gun owners. The Second Amendment is simply not a right that foreign-born peoples feel any meaningful connection to. Why should they? Crime and government corruption are something they’re used to in their home countries, especially the ones south of the border. This is why voting for corrupt gun-grabbing candidates is so appealing to them. It feels normal.

Which brings us to Boulder. The city council has adopted a new ordinance that says that law-abiding Americans have just a few days to register their newly-prohibited rifles, shotguns and sidearms with the police force. If they don’t comply and are later caught in possession of an “unregistered” gun, they can go to jail, be fined, and have all of their guns confiscated and destroyed. The city council also banned high-capacity magazines and bump stocks. All of the votes were unanimous.

This is what happens in cities and states where unchecked immigration tilts the demographics away from the rights of the native-born population. It reaches a tipping point where gun-grabbing Democrats have a super-majority, like in the California state legislature. When you look at all of the states with truly draconian gun laws, you’ll see a massive legal and illegal immigration rate that has skyrocketed over the past two decades. New York. Illinois. California. Washington.

Ted Cruz nearly lost his reelection in Texas this year. In freaking TEXAS! Do you think native-born Texans looked around and thought, “Gee, you know what we’re missing in the midst of all of this freedom, job growth and prosperity? We need a Senator slightly to the left of Nancy Pelosi!”

According to police, only 85 people have showed up to register their guns in Boulder, even though the registration deadline is fast approaching (it’s December 27th, in fact). As author Larry Correia points out, “The biggest recurring joke in the gun community is that I don’t own any guns, because I lost them all in a freak canoe accident.”

Here’s a story out of South Carolina which highlights why our gun rights are so important. A guy named Bruce McLaughlin, age 30, beat up a prison guard with one of his buddies and escaped from jail this week. At 3 o’clock in the morning, he kicked in the back door of a woman’s home. She was at home, alone and in bed fast asleep at the time.

Good ol’ Bruce helped himself to the first sharp object he could find in the kitchen – a knife sharpening tool – and headed for the bedroom. The poor woman now needs to hire a cleanup crew, because she put a round through Bruce’s forehead when he entered her bedroom and blew his brains all over the wall. Sometimes, Christmas comes early!

She didn’t have her gun locked inside a gun safe with a trigger lock on it, and her ammo safely stored in a separate location on the far side of the moon. She had it loaded and within easy reach of her bed. The Boulder city council would like to pretend that American heroes like this woman don’t exist, and that we’ll all be safer if we just register our guns or turn them.

They’re wrong, but unfortunately, our side of the debate is starting to be out-voted by all the anti-gun foreign voters the elites have allowed in our country.
